Association of Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ‘Østfold’ organized the celebration of BiH Statehood Day in the Norwegian city of Sapsbourg.

In his address, Ambassador of BiH to Norway Nedim Makarevic pointed out on the challenges, but also on the achievements that BiH has achieved over the last 26 years. He also highlighted the need for greater connection of peoples of BiH to their native country and the importance of the existence of similar associations.

Makarevic emphasized the importance of the BH diaspora, which is extremely well integrated into the Norwegian society, but also warned of the problem of assimilation which should be resisted.

The Association of BiH Citizens Østfold was registered in 2002 and implemented a number of projects and events for citizens of BiH living in Norway.

Earlier, this association counted between 500-600 members, but currently, there are some 220 members.
