Hundreds of Sarajevo residents said goodbye tonight to Faris Pendek, a 19-year-old young man who was killed on Sunday evening in Sarajevo’s Otoka neighborhood. Adem Suman is suspected of this murder.

The mother of the murdered young man addressed the gathered citizens, who said that she hopes that the perpetrator of the murder will be sentenced to the harshest punishment.

The peaceful gathering was organized by friends of the murdered young man.

The Council of Parents of Sarajevo Canton supported this initiative and invited parents to join the gathering and pay their respects to the murdered young man in a peaceful and dignified way.

We remind you that Faris Pendek was killed in a shooting that took place on Sunday, January 28, late in the evening at the intersection of VII Transversal and Bulevar Meša Selimović in the Otoka neighborhood in Sarajevo.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office proposed to the Sarajevo Cantonal Court that Adem Šuman, suspected of murdering a young man, be detained for one month.

As announced by the Prosecutor’s Office, the motion was sent due to the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder with reckless and violent behavior.

His detention was proposed due to the risk of escape, then, due to the risk that if he was released, he could influence the witnesses, hide evidence, and because of the risk that the suspect’s release could upset the public.

One-month detention was proposed to Mersim Saljević and Elmedin Gradišić for the same detention reasons.

They are suspected of the crime of assisting the perpetrator after the crime has been committed.
