Five people, including three civilians, were killed in Israeli attacks last night on the Homs region in central Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced.

The Syrian army announced that civilians were killed and wounded late last night, and the Syrian state news agency SANA, citing an unnamed military official, reported this morning that the strikes caused damage to private and public property, without giving details.

A statement from the UK-based Observatory said the civilian casualties were “a woman, a child and a man” and that “seven others were wounded” in Israeli strikes on a building in the Hamra neighborhood of Homs city.

The Syrian news agency SANA, based on a military source, claims that airstrikes have been carried out on the center of Homs and some points in rural areas.

“Our anti-aircraft defense systems intercepted enemy missiles coming from Lebanon and shot down some of them. Several civilians were killed in the attack. There were also injuries and material damage,” it was announced.

Israel did not make any statement about the attack.
