CNN about People of Sarajevo: Their Generosity has no Limits

CNN released a report on Sarajevo where they recommended the capital city of BiH as one of the destinations that will exceed all of your expectations.

Author Albert Stumm noted that the “scars” of the war can still be seen in some parts of the city, but there are fresh signs of a lively future that are slowly replacing those that recall on a four-year siege.

New hotels largely contributed to this, as well as five airlines that introduced flights from the International Airport Sarajevo, including Qatar Airways and Wizz Air.

“Now the enigmatic city exudes a modern cool in numerous ways, such as a sculpture garden skate park in the restored Austro-Hungarian quarter and margaritas served in the preserved Ottoman bazaar within earshot of the Muslim call to prayer,” stated author in the article.

In the report, he recommended a total of 11 places in Sarajevo.

In the first place is the part of the Old Town, including buildings from Ottoman period such as Sebilj, Gazi Husrev-bey’s Bezistan, Gazi Husrev-bey’s mosque and a large number of shops and restaurants that are offering souvenirs and Turkish cuisine.

The author also mentioned the view on the Yellow Fortress in Sarajevo, and Stumm said that it represents an ideal place for looking at the city and sunset.

Hiking in the Dinaric Alps, or mountains that are surrounding Sarajevo, is on the fourth place of his list. He recommended to hikers to take the Via Dinarica road that connects the Western Balkans and offers a road through the traditional mountain villages, as well as the opportunity for rafting, mountain climbing, and rock climbing.

“Sarajevo is a city where you go out with 5 BAM in your pocket, and you return at 6 AM with 10 BAM and a box of cigarettes. Their generosity has no limits,” said Cat Norman, the US citizen who fell in love with BiH, got married and stayed here.
