Co-organized by the China-Bosnia and Herzegovina Friendship Association and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in BiH, the “Coffee and Tea” Forum – Seminar on Tourism and Culture was organized in Sarajevo on Thursday.

The Forum, which was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and BiH, was attended by representatives of cultural institutions – musical ensembles from China and BiH, the academic community, government institutions, and representatives of the tourism sector in BiH, in addition to the organizers.

Counselor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in BiH Wang Guofei stated in his introductory remarks that China and BiH developed bilateral relations based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit 30 years ago, setting an example of friendly coexistence and common development between countries of different sizes, histories, cultures and social systems.

As he stated, over the past three decades, our two countries have witnessed growing political trust, fruitful practical cooperation and growth in people-to-people exchanges.

Cultural and tourist exchanges between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina have a long and successful tradition. During the 1970s, the film “Walter Defends Sarajevo” became a real hit in China and became a precious memory of the joint struggle of the two peoples against fascist aggression.

Thanks to the mutual abolition of visas, more and more Chinese tourists are appearing on the streets of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Thus, in the first six months of this year, the number of Chinese tourists who visited Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 54.7 percent compared to the same period last year, and it is expected that by the end of 2025 their number will exceed 100 thousand.

Advisor Wang concluded that cultural and tourist cooperation between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina has broad prospects and a very bright future, and invited young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit China and experience this country in its most beautiful light, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
