A sad procession with 30 coffins containing the remains of the victims of the genocide committed in the summer of 1995 in the area of Srebrenica arrived in Potočari, where a collective funeral and burial will be held on July 11.

After passing through Potočari, the column passed through the city, stopped at the mosque in the center of Srebrenica, and then returned to the former battery factory.

Mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, as well as numerous relatives and friends arrived in front of the former Battery Factory in the complex of the Memorial Center Srebrenica – Potočari, to say goodbye to the murdered family members.

In silence, as in previous years, they formed two lines from the truck with the remains of the Srebrenica victims to the entrance to the former factory, in order to carry the coffins in their hands.

The remains of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, laid on 30 coffins, were sent away this morning from Visoko on their way to their final resting place – the Memorial Center in Potočari. The convoy also passed through the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo.

The coffins with the remains of the victims will be brought out tomorrow, July 10, in the Musala of the cemetery of the Srebrenica Memorial Center – Potočari.

Among the 30 people who will be buried this year at the collective funeral on July 11 are four minors. The youngest victim to be buried this year is Elvir Salčinović, a boy who was 15 years old when he was killed. Elvir was killed in the area of Baljkovica, and his remains were exhumed from the Liplja mass grave near Zvornik in 2001. It was identified in 2011. He will find his final peace with his father Turabija and brother Almir, who were buried in Potočari in 2003 and 2011, respectively.

The oldest victim who will be buried on July 11 is Nezir Muminović, who was 65 years old when he was killed. His remains were exhumed in 2007 in the area of Kamenica.
