Collective of Burch University as the “Guardians of the Museum”

burchYesterday in the National Museum, as part of the civil project “I am Museum”, collective of Burch University was on the duty of “Guardians of the Museum.” Besides participation in this project, they felt the need to do something more, so they donated computer to the National Museum.

Meliha Handžić and Harun Šiljak were on duty on the behalf of the collective of Burch University.

Within the duty, attendees visited Gafić’s exhibition, the Ethnological collection and the Botanic Garden.

Public interest for this action is extremely large, and every day from 100 to 150 citizens are on the duty, in the attempt to express their solidarity with the workers of the Museum in this way and to send a joint message on the need for reopening of the institution as soon as possible.

Association “Akcija” is realizing civil project called “I’m a Museum,” from the 3rd of August to the 4th of October, which aims to remind B&H and international public on the fact that the largest and most important museum institution in B&H is closed for almost 3 years, and to influence on the responsible institutions to solve this problem as soon as possible.

The action is realized in cooperation with a partner organization Mediacentar Sarajevo under the Project for sustainability of civil society organizations and it is supported by USAID, as announced from the Burch University.
