During yesterday’s karting race in Zalužani, a drone filming the race and a helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska collided, the portal Banjaluka.net has learned.

As confirmed, it was only by sheer luck that a major accident was avoided and everything went well. The incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. during the landing of the helicopter at the Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, in the zone where the use of unmanned aerial vehicles is prohibited. At that moment, the helicopter was flying low, and the drone hit it.

“The person who owns the drone neither had permission to use it in this zone, nor was the use of the drone announced to us. When the accident happened, the owner ran away, but he was soon found,” the Banjaluka.net portal was told.

After the collision, the police went to the field and conducted an investigation, and the case was forwarded to the competent institutions.

“Fortunately, everything went well. A bigger accident could have happened. It is good that no one was injured”, said the source of the Banjaluka.net portal.
