As part of a three-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the delegation of the Committee for Defense and Security of the European Parliament (SEDE) today visited the Tactical Support Brigade and the Demining Battalion of the Armed Forces of BiH (AF BiH) at the Rajlovac barracks.
The EU parliamentarians, led by the head of the delegation, Gheorgho-Vlad Nistor, were welcomed by the Acting Commander of the Brigade, Brigadier Jasmin Čajić, with a team of elders from the Brigade Command and the Demining Battalion.
The guests were given an informative briefing about the Brigade itself, with an emphasis on the Demining Battalion, its place and its role in the mine removal process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Special mention was made of gratitude to the members of the EU Committee for the significant donation of 10 million euros in equipment and means for demining, which will help improve the process of humanitarian demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period.
Also, EU parliamentarians were shown the operational capabilities of the Demining Battalion, with a demonstration of the use of modern equipment owned by the Tactical Support Brigade.
At the end of these activities, the members of the EU Parliament expressed great satisfaction with what they saw, and Brigadier Čajić expressed gratitude to the EU parliamentarians for visiting this Brigade, which is one of the most complex units of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, announced the MoD BiH.
