After the exhumation, the remains of the victims were transferred to the Šejkovača Identification Center for forensic – medical and criminal – technical processing and the extraction of bone samples with the aim of identifying the victims with the help of the DNA method.

The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and according to the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and during the two-day exhumation there were investigators from the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a forensic medicine doctor, anthropologists of the International Commission for Missing Persons, workers, machinery as well as members of the Prijedor Police Department who secured the exhumation site, AA writes.
