Concrete Fest: Eight Floor Tree and Sun in Sarajevo Settlement Ciglane

[wzslider autoplay=”true”] The festival of 3D anamorphic art, entitled “Concrete Fest (Beton Fest)”, opened its doors to the citizens of Sarajevo on Thursday, the 22nd of September 2016.

In the new premises, which will serve as an exhibition space for unrecognized artists, was announced a big campaign of drawing stairs near the “slope lift” in the settlement Ciglane, one of the icons of Sarajevo, as announced in a statement.

“The idea was created in cooperation with the Association ‘Obojena klapa (Colored gang)’, at the initiative of the citizens of this Sarajevo settlement, led by Denis Challenger. After the contact, we decided to move our own festival and adapt it to this action because of the volume of work and the fact that this project is of great importance for Sarajevo, and especially this settlement that is tired of watching one of the most recognizable locations getting ruined. The idea is to make five 3D drawings during the festival, which will be connected by the river that will flow down the stairs,” said Adis Novic, the director of Concrete Fest.

He also noted that, due to the scale of the project, this will be the only place where visitors will be able to see 3D drawings this year, but it does not exclude the possibility of organizing another festival like this in the near future.

Benjamin Cengic, President of the Association of Citizens ‘Obojena klapa (Colored gang)’ emphasized that this activity will encourage citizens and artists to be more activated in projects of beautifying the city and its content. The tree that will extend to all eight floors represents life, and all of its beauty as well as the nature that surrounds us.

“As a resident of this settlement, I could not watch this nice building to further collapse and I decided, as a citizen, to do something about it. I contacted the association ‘Obojena klapa (Colored gang)’, and got in touch with Concrete Fest through them and thus this collaboration came to life. We have been able to raise the necessary funds for this project thanks to the Municipality Centar,  and we believe that we will manage to realize it by the end of September, “said Denis Challenger, the creator of the project.
