Under the organization of the Foundation of Cultural Heritage Without Borders and the Balkan Network of Museums, a conference will be held from 23-25 April in Sarajevo entitled “Meet, See, Do”.
The goal of this conference is for employees in museum institutions and professionals in the area of culture meet and to witness successful examples from the region and the world and to present their projects.
Eminent international experts will focus on three topics: accessibility of the museum for people with disabilities, cultural tourism and interpretation of cultural heritage.
The Balkan Network of museums invests significant effort and resources in the development of museums since 2006, through an organization of training and joint projects.
After ‘Meet, See, Do’, until the international conference for museum employees, museums could, in cooperation with NGOS that deal with the promotion of the rights of people with disabilities, artists and other organizations and individuals apply to the Foundation of Cultural Heritage Without Borders for the financing of their projects (deadline for applications is 13 May 2013).
The Swedish government is financing the Balkan Network of museums through development programs and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. More information can be found at: www.bmuseums.net.
“Due to the difficult situation that museums in BiH face every day, we think that it is very important that this conference is being held in Sarajevo. It is a message that culture, art and museums will be revived once again. For this to happen, it is necessary to work a lot and to have a lot of good ideas and projects, which will of course occur at the “Meet, See and Do” Conference’’, said the organizers.
