The foundation stone for the construction of a new hospital in Trebinje, with a total value of 128 million marks, was laid, with the presence of the highest officials of the Republika Srpska.

The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said that this “is a historic day not only for the city of Trebinje, but also for the entire Republika Srpska and the region.”

“I am sure that in 30 months we will have a new hospital in Trebinje. Herzegovina deserves a new hospital,” pointed out Dodik and added that not so long ago Trebinje was closed for communication on all sides.

“Today we solved all those problems and got into a position to affirm the Republika Srpska in the right way and in beautiful Trebinje,” pointed out Dodik.

He stated that Trebinje is recognized as a good place to live.

“And, for it to really be like that, a modern health facility is also needed, and an airport. If there weren’t those who contested all of that, it would be even more and better, but we won’t stop or give up because of them,” he said. Dodik.

The Republika Srpska has been continuously building health facilities and investing in the health system throughout the Republika Srpska for the last ten or more years, said the Prime Minister of the Srpska Radovan Višković.

“Perhaps we should have come to Trebinje earlier to build a new hospital, but we are not late either, because we are responsible people. We must offer our citizens the right care, with the desire to have as little work as possible in the new hospital,” he said.

“I am convinced that this will be a regional health center with young and well-trained doctors. We should be proud of what we create and build ourselves. I have never felt like a stranger here, because I consider this my country, just as you see Serbia as your own mother,” said Danica Grujicic, Minister of Health in the Government of Serbia.

She stated that after the coronavirus epidemic, we were convinced of how important health care is.

“Our medical facilities are the nation’s defense against all the plagues that accompany this time,” she added.

This is a very important day for Trebinje. As a minister, I have the great honor to say that the government and the ministry will successfully implement this project and provide health services according to the highest world standards, said the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republika Srpska, Alen Šeranić.

“The real work is ahead of us. We are building this hospital with you and for you. Everything completely new awaits us in this hospital,” he added.

“On April 1, 1966, a decision was made to build a hospital in Trebinje, and that was a historic moment. And today is a historic moment, not only for Trebinje, but for the entire region and Republika Srpska, because we will get one of the most modern medical facilities. in this part of Europe,” said academician Predrag Peško.

“The new hospital in Trebinje will be a symbol of progress, quality and care for all of us,” said the mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, reports RTRS.

With united forces, Ćurić says, that can all create a healthy and prosperous future for all.

“Let this be a place where all those who need help will be satisfied with the service. This facility is a kind of pledge for the future,” pointed out Ćurić.
