Construction of the Peljesac bridge to start in 2017?

peljesac bridgeCroatian Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković said that the construction of the Peljesac bridge will start on the fall this year.

The project will be financed entirely by the Republic of Croatia in the case that the European Union does not finance the construction of the bridge. The contractor on the project Peljesac bridge should be known this summer, said Butković in Dubrovnik, where the ninth meeting of the working group for the construction of the Peljesac bridge was held.

The Minister said that the bridge would be completed within 3.5 years from the signing of the contract, and he added that in the second round the performers and dates of the completation will be known.

The project of Peljesac bridge with access roads, with which will be connected separated Croatian territory, including the European Union, will be 32.53 km long and will consist of three main phases: Peljesac Bridge (a distance of 2.4 kilometers); the access road to the Peljesac: Duboka – Zaradeze (a length of 12.04 kilometers); bypass Stone: Zaradeze – Donta Doli, which is divided into two parts, i.e. the alignment of D414 between Zaradeze – Prapratno and construction of bypass Prapratno – Donta Doli (in a length of 18.09 kilometers), as stated from the Ministry.
