Coordination Team of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina held Meeting

Central topics were related to the work and organisation of the institution in the state of emergency, its coordination with partner institutions and law enforcement agencies, and to a plan for the organisation of work in the coming period.

Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, held the fourth meeting of the Coordination Team of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which analysed the operation and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH since the introduction of the state of emergency due to Covid 19 pandemic.

The operation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was effective and organised in accordance with the recommendations of the HJPC of BiH and other competent bodies, and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was able to respond adequately to the challenges and tasks in the past period.

There has been intense work on detention cases and cases with pressing deadlines, cases related to the spread of Covid 19 pandemic, as well as to terrorism cases, smuggling of persons in the segment of illegal migration, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, unauthorised sale of excise products, as well as to cases dealing with other criminal offences.

The meeting discussed measures of protection for employees, parties and staff who come into contact with employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, with an emphasis on special measures in the event of increasing work capacities in accordance with health and safety measures and restrictions.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH maintains active and frequent communication with partner judicial, police and security agencies to ensure the best possible and unhindered functioning of the institution.

In addition, upon request and a letter from the HJPC BiH, the Coordination Team discussed the activity plan and engagement of capacities in the coming period, in accordance with the situation caused by the spread of Covid 19 virus, in accordance with the recommendations of the competent authorities and in agreement and coordination with partner institutions.
