bosnic2The Court of B&H rendered the first instance verdict for Husein Bilal Bosnic, an informal leader of the selefi movement in B&H, who is known as Bilal. Bosnic was sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crime of inciting terrorist activities, recruitment for terrorist activities and organization of terroristic groups.

The Prosecution of B&H emphasized that they are satisfied with the verdict, but they will seek for the longer punishment during the appeal process.

Defense announced an appeal, and Bosnic’s lawyers stated that in this case it is a “politically staged process.”

The verdict states that Husein Bosnic, as a member of the so-called selefi community which is organized on the territory of B&H in 2013 and 2014, outside of the official institutions of the Islamic Community in B&H, in several cities in B&H and communities in Velika Kladusa and Gornja Maoca, propagated and spread Islamic radicalism in the country and the region consciously from a position of religious authority in the so-called selefi community, and publicly incited others to join terrorist organizations and groups.

Bosnic brought together members of the selefi community on public gatherings, as well as through social networks YouTube, and held and published his speeches and public messages encouraging members of the selefi community to become members of an organized terroristic group ISIS in the so-called Islamic state and to participate in the activities organized by this terrorist organization as members of the group.

He was arrested in a police operation with code name “Damask” in September 2014.
