The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a final verdict by which Alisa Mutap Ramić, the ex-girlfriend of the young man who died, Dženan Memic, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. According to this decision, police officer Hasan Dupovac was acquitted of abuse of office.
This information was confirmed for BHRT by Muriz Memic, the father of the victim Dženan.
Let us remind you that Alisa Ramić was sentenced for concealing evidence and giving a false statement, while Dupovac was sentenced to three years in prison at first instance for abuse of office.
Let us recall that the trial in this case began in October 2021 with the testimony of Muriz Memić. The first-instance verdict was pronounced in November of the following year, when all the accused were acquitted.
Dženan Memic was seriously injured on February 8, 2016 in Velika Aleja in Ilidža, and died a few days later. The Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton tried to prove that it was a traffic accident, for which Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović were accused. Prosecutors failed to prove the indictment on two occasions before the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo. After those verdicts were annulled, the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina also determined that there was no evidence that Dženan died in a traffic accident.
In the case of Memic, the State Prosecutor’s Office was also involved, so that a second process was conducted before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was supposed to determine whether evidence had been concealed and the investigation obstructed in the past years.
