The Municipal Court in Sarajevo rejected the proposal of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Prosecutor’s Office for the introduction of prohibitive measures against the Minister for Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons, and Refugees of CS, Enda Pavic Pecenkovic, confirmed Amra Hodzic, spokesperson of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo.
Based on the decision of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, which rejected the proposal for prohibitive measures, Minister Pavic Pecenkovic can return to work at the Ministry for Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons, and Refugees of CS and defend herself from freedom.
Pavic Pecenkovic was released from detention two days ago. Her lawyer Dejan Vracic said two days ago that it is in Minister Pavic Pecenkovic’s interest for the situation regarding the actions she is charged with to be fully clarified, and that in the upcoming proceedings, she proves her innocence. Yesterday, as he said, in agreement with his client, he does not wish to give statements to the media until Monday.
It should be recalled that Minister Pavic Pecenkovic was arrested two days ago in the continuation of the “Envelope” operation, within which earlier were arrested the Minister for Science, Higher Education and Youth of CS, Adna Mesihovic, and Ibrahim Obhodzas, who was a member of the Commission that conducted the employment procedure in the said ministry.
Accordingly, the CS Prosecutor’s Office charges Pavic Pecenkovic that, together with the previously arrested minister in the CS Government, Adna Mesihovic, through the mediation of Ibrahim Obhodzas, she favored his sister in order to enable her employment in the Ministry for Labor of CS.
As already known, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo ordered one-month detention for Ibrahim Obhodzas and Minister Adna Mesihovic, who were arrested in the same operation.
Detention was ordered for them due to the risk of influencing witnesses, concealing evidence, obstructing the criminal investigation, and the risk of repeating the criminal offense.
Prohibitive measures requested by the CS Prosecutor’s Office were ordered against the suspect Dzenita Viteskic, except for the measure of banning the performance of official duties as assistant to the minister.
Adna Mesihovic and her assistant Dzenita Viteskic are suspected of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority. Specifically, they are suspected of illegal employment in the ministry, N1 writes.
