After the announcement of the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the President of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) Dragan Covic met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic, and the Croatian President Zoran Milanovic.
”So, they discussed further challenging activities that are ahead, as well as efforts to achieve equality for Croats in BiH, ” the HNS BiH announced on Thursday.
Covic thanked Prime Minister Plenkovic and the Government of the Republic of Croatia for “the immeasurable contribution that this Government has made and continues to make in the fight for legitimate representation of the constituent peoples, continuous commitment to the equality of Croats, and the continuation of the European path and also a more functional BiH.“
The statement said that the rights of the constituent peoples of BiH could not be further violated.
It was also mentioned that it is necessary to immediately eliminate discrimination and inequality and ensure the equality of all three peoples through urgent electoral reform that will enable the legitimate representation of the constituent peoples in BiH.
At the meeting with the Croatian president, the need for an urgent agreement on electoral reform was pointed out, which, according to the statement, will be insisted on by all institutions of the Republic of Croatia.
“Legitimate representation of the constituent peoples must be enabled, but also the functionality of institutions in BiH,” it was emphasized.
Covic once again called on Milanovic and Plenkovic, to additionally open questions and warn of “rough and organized outvoting of the Croatian people in BiH while there is still time,more precisely to do it within the international associations to which they belong, the European Union (EU) and NATO, but also all others.“
