The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will take urgent action to determine all the circumstances and allegations made in the media concerning allegations of the members of the Salafi Movement for arms smuggling in BiH.

Within the case, all persons will be examined who made statements and information about the activities mentioned, and about which the Prosecutor’s Office was not informed, nor did the events reported to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektic will be examined on all the details presented in the media statements.

The news site Zurnal reported on Wednesday that Croatian intelligence officers have tried to recruit followers of the Salafi branch of Islam to smuggle weapons to their mosques in Bosnia. Croatia denied the allegations.

“A prosecutor in the special department for organized crime, economic crime and corruption will undertake urgent activities to determine all circumstances and allegations in media relating to alleged recruiting of members of Salafi movement for weapons smuggling in Bosnia,” the office said in a statement.

Croatia’s Security and Intelligence Agency dismissed the allegations as “false and malicious”. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said it was “nonsense.”, Reuters reported.
