Cultural, historical and natural Resources of Jajce must be saved

The primary goal of the PI “Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourism Potentials” in the future period will be the cultural-historical and natural heritage of the town of Jajce.

Director of this institution, Midhat Saraf, stated that they will mostly work on the realization of already started projects this year, but they will also be dedicated to the realization of some new challenges, which will include the entire community.

“Our institution was founded in order to preserve everything that is valuable and that needs to be left to next generations. Of course, I do not believe that the development of tourism should be neglected, but on the contrary, I believe that the development of tourism and the preservation of our heritage need to be mutually conditioned. My aim is to secure the status that our town deserves through the activity of our agency in both historical and tourist sense,” said Saraf.

Jajce was a royal city on the level of Dubrovnik and Venice in the Middle Ages. Saraf said that they are far away from that now, and explained that since Jajce cannot be a political capital of BiH, it can be its cultural-historical as well as tourist capital.

His plan is to preserve the business operations of the PI “Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourism Potentials” at the same level as before his appointment.

“Of course, I am planning to improve the work of the Agency, but for now, I will try to keep the job at the same level. We have to thank the former director, Huso Hadzic, for everything that has been done so far, and he now has a new role in our institution, the role of adviser, and I hope that we will manage to accomplish all previously determined goals,” said Saraf.
