Cvijanovic: Foreigners significantly contributed to the Nightmare in BiH

What hinders Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) success is not sanctions against individuals, but the chronic closing of the foreign factor’s eyes to real problems.

With their interventions and unconstitutional experiments, they contributed significantly, perhaps decisively, to this nightmare that BiH is going through, Zeljka Cvijanovic, the president of Republika Srpska (RS), said in an interview.

She says that, if she is elected to the Presidency of BiH, she plans to go to Sarajevo and do her job in accordance with the Constitution and in the interest of RS.

”The rules are clear, you were elected to work in the interests of the RS in the Presidency of BiH and to use constitutional protection mechanisms when those interests are threatened. The fact that you have a three-member Presidency shows the complexity of the work, but the procedures are also clear,” said Cvijanovic.

Regarding the sanctions of the United Kingdom (UK), she says that they are not aggravating for it because they were created out of ignorance and with rather rude and completely incorrect explanations.

”And mostly out of malice towards the fact that there is RS that defends the Constitution, and not what they tried to make of the Constitution in conjunction with the Bosniak parties. What hinders BiH’s success is not sanctions against individuals, but the chronic closing of the foreign factor’s eyes to real problems. With their interventions and unconstitutional experiments, they significantly, perhaps decisively, contributed to this nightmare that BiH is going through,” she added.

When it comes to cooperation with a foreign factor, Cvijanovic says that it is necessary.

”And whether we will understand each other better does not depend only on us. If we are talking about cooperation within BiH, it is necessary and much needed. Again, whether it will be realized does not depend only on RS. I believe that the exclusivity of political Sarajevo and the desire for dominance is the biggest obstacle to normal coexistence. The violent creation of a civil state is not realistic and only makes things more difficult,” she said.
