Fight against terrorism remains to be one of the key security priorities for the Government of Republika Srpska (RS), stated yesterday the RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović, highlighting that RS is strongly committed to act in partnership with all progressive forces on the elimination of this security threat.
Cvijanović spoke about this issue and the current political and economic situation in RS and B&H yesterday in New York with the Managing Director and Executive Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress Robert Singer.
Cvijanović and Singer discussed the position of Jewish community in RS and expressed satisfaction with the fact that the construction of Jewish cultural center with a synagogue in the largest city in RS has been completed with the support of the City of Banja Luka.
It was highlighted that, thanks to the Representative Office of RS in Jerusalem, institutional relations between RS and Israel have been improved, and Cvijanović thanked for the support that the World Jewish Congress and the Association of the Major American Jewish Organizations have been offering to RS during past years, the RS Government stated.
Cvijanović was earlier hosted in a radio show “John Batchelor Show” together with the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Malcolm Hoenline.
The topics they discussed were related to the cooperation between RS and Israel, challenges of the migrant crisis, and security risks which the Western Balkans countries are faced with.
