Dajic: Beginning of the School Year will be a great Challenge

The General Director of the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska, Vlado Dajic, stated that the beginning of the school year will be a great challenge for both health and education workers, and that the possibility of spreading the corona virus will be very high.

Dajic appealed to all citizens of the Republika Srpska to be as serious as possible, to wear protective masks and to avoid any socializing, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

“We have people who behave irresponsibly, spread the infection and thus endanger their loved ones. As many as 60 to 80 percent of those infected are to blame for that,” Dajic told Alternative Television on Saturday.

He added that more than 10 million BAM were spent for the treatment of those patients, but that the bigger problem is that in such conditions it is impossible to provide quality health care to those who did not suffer from coronavirus.

“Information was published today that Slovenia has no patients on a respirator, and in Republika Srpska, there are 30, although we are twice as smaller. If people’s consciousness does not change, there will be a complete collapse of the health system, but also an economic collapse,” Dajic said.

Dajic reminded that today the doctors and nurses of the UCC, who are the mothers of schoolchildren, appealed to the citizens to respect preventive measures, so that the children could go to school.

“Doctors and nurses who addressed today are most called to warn citizens of the danger, because they have made a huge sacrifice, welcomed sick patients, know how they behave, what is happening to them, watched many die and listened to their last words, “Djajic said.

He reiterated that citizens are only required to wear masks and keep their distance.

“Unfortunately, people are behaving as if nothing is happening, the cafes are full and no one is wearing masks. If we continue like this frivolously and irresponsibly, the numbers will only get worse,” Dajic emphasized.
