Damir Beljo defended the title of European champion in cruiserweight by the WBO version after he won by the unanimous decision of judges over the challenger Mohammed Rasuli.
Beljo was a better boxer in 12 rounds and he defended title of the Champion. Soon our boxer could fight for the title of world champion as well. The title of best boxer on the world holds Krzysztof Głowacki from Poland.
This is the 21st victory from the same number of matches for this young boxer from Mostar, as many as 17 of them were knockouts.
“My emotions are still holding me. Thank you for coming to brighten up my life. Thank you Bosnia, Herzegovina, Dalmatia and everyone else. I dedicate this victory to my wife and a child that God has given us,” said Beljo after the fight.
The match was held in the hall Pecara in Siroki Brijeg, and the audience started to whistle at our national anthem, however Beljo responded immediately and showed the audience to stop it, and the audience did as he requested.
