Dautbašić: Declining Number of False Asylum Seekers from BiH

The last statistics revealed that there is a decline in the number of false asylum seekers from BiH to EU member countries, announced yesterday the Head of the Monitoring Team to Monitor the Implementation of the Visa-Free Regime Bakir Dautbašić for FENA Agency. However, he warned that the final number in 2012 was the largest until now, and that “we have a huge increase, which is not good”.

“We will have a chance to speak with relevant EU institutions next week in Brussels. On 22 February a meeting of the monitoring team of the countries in the region with representatives of the EU will be held, where we will explain our position. We will probably receive warnings from the EU due to the increased number, especially having in mind that in the last period there is a growth in the number of asylum seekers from Africa and Asia, where the situation is not secure”, said Dautbašić.

He added that the EU is probably worried at the increased number and will probably do not need an increase in the number of asylum seekers from our region who are abusing the visa-free regime.
