Davis Cup: Haase defeated Dzumhur, Netherlands to continue with competing

dzumhurTennis players of the Netherlands won with the score 3: 1 against the team of BiH in the second round of the first group of Euroafrican zone of the Davis Cup, which was played in Arena (Zenica).

In a duel of the two best rackets of BiH and the Netherlands, Damir Dzumhur and Robin Haase, we had the opportunity to see great tennis, and in the end the Dutchman triumphed with 3: 2 in sets (7: 5, 6: 2, 6: 7, 2: 6, 6: 4) thanks to more concentration and good luck.

In the first set, both tennis players kept their service until the very end, when Haase won the point on Dzumhur’s service and won the set. In the second set, Haase took two services from Dzumhur and won with the score 6: 3.

In the third set, Haase took the lead with the score 4: 0 and Dzumhur managed to tie the result on 4: 4, and ultimately win the set in the tie-break. Later on, Dzumhur dominated and won the fourth set with the score 6: 2. The best tennis player of BiH did not manage to keep the level of his game and in the decisive fifth set, the Dutchman won with 6: 4.

Thus, Haase brought the decisive third point for the Netherlands in the duel against BiH. Yesterday also met Basic and De Bakker.

Yesterday, the Dutch team of Robin Haase and Jean-Julian Rojer won against the team of BiH, Tomislav Brkic and Mirza Basic, and Haase defeated Basic on the first day, while Dzumhur brought the only point to our team by defeating Thiemo de Bakker.

The Netherlands qualified for the play-offs for the World group.
