The trial of the suspended President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, and others has been closed to the public for the third time in a row due to the hearing of a witness from the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office who has immunity.

At the beginning of the hearing, it was stated that the testimony of the witness under immunity would continue, and journalists were removed from the courtroom, BIRN reported.

At the hearing held on 22 April, journalists were also removed. At that time, the hearing of the witness with immunity was also planned to continue, while the hearing held on 15 April was closed to the public for data protection reasons.

In addition to Debevac, the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Osman Mehmedagić and an employee of the Court of BiH Milisav Pijuk are accused in this case.

Debevec is charged with abuse of office or authority, forgery of an official document, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence, unauthorized wiretapping and audio or optical recording, and for false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH. He is also accused of ordering an employee of the Court of BiH, assigned to the position of associate for the protection of classified information, to delete or destroy data on issued orders and decisions in the files from the official books of the Court.

Mehmedagić is charged with forgery of an official document, as well as abuse of office or authority, while Pijuk and Debevec are included in the indictment that charges them with unauthorized wiretapping and audio or optical recording, for false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH.
