The trade union consumer basket calculated by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for October 2021 amounts to 2.101.71 BAM and is 50.80 BAM cheaper than the consumer basket for the previous month.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) for August 2021 was 1.000 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Bureau of Statistics) and is 5.00 BAM higher than the amount in the previous month. The coverage of the trade union consumer basket with the average salary is 47.58 percent.

When making the trade union consumer basket, the average salary paid in the FBiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum living costs of a family of four consisting of two adults and two children, one in high school and the other in primary school.

The consumer basket consists of these categories: food 43.9 percent, housing and utilities 14.8 percent, hygiene and health 6.2 percent, education and culture 8.6 percent, clothing and footwear 14.3 percent, transportation 6.6 percent, and household maintenance 5.7 percent.

”In the category of food, prices from 3 shopping centers were used for 83 items. When it comes to hygiene and maintaining health, the costs for twelve (12) items were included, and for housing and communal services the costs for six (6) items, ” it was announced by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH.
