market-risenThrough significant support from the entity governments, especially the FBIH, and due to the increasing demand on the world market the dedicated BiH industry entered into an important phase of recovery, announced today the President of the Commission for Trade and Services of the Group Defense Industry of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber Hasib Salkić.

The new board of the group, which was chosen at the end of May at the regular assembly of the group, held a session in Sarajevo today.

According to Salkić, apart from contracts that the special industry has with Egyptian, Turkish, Saudi Arabian, Pakistani, Malaysian and Indonesian buyers, this year new contracts have been made and new markets have opened, primarily in the Ukraine and Angolia.

“What is a very important factor at this moment is the presence of some major US companies on the BiH market through long-term contracts that guarantee stability of sales in the next four or five years and certainly a new chance that is a particularly strong engagement of a major US and world company in the segment of rehabilitation, or the improvement of the process of production’’, said Salkić.

He expressed hope that our facilities will use this opportunity in the next two to three years, which would significantly increase sales and be able to take regional leadership in this industry.

The President of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber Ismet Kumalić said that in the last period they recently launched a series of activities to promote the sector in order to support the initial, positive results.

“In the last three years, export has increased more than three times and we will certainly have a good perspective’’, said Kumalić.
