The delegation of the Republika Srpska, which includes the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats Milorad Dodik, acting President of the Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić and Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Siniša Karan, is in Budapest, where they met with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, Radio-Television of the Republika Srpska reported.

The delegation also includes the Ambassador of BiH to Hungary Biljana Gutić Bjelica.

The Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized that he has been working with the Republika Srpska for stability in the region for a long time, and that he looks forward to continuing this cooperation. Orban previously congratulated the SNSD and its candidate for President of the Republika Srpska, Sinisa Karan, on their electoral victory in the early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska.

Ahead of his trip to Budapest, Dodik said that the Republika Srpska and Hungary are developing increasingly “intensive and meaningful relations”.

He also announced that Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Banja Luka, will visit Banja Luka tomorrow. Dodik no longer holds any public office, as a final verdict of the Court of BiH, issued for failure to implement the decisions of the High Representative, prohibits him from holding any public office for the next six years.
