Migrant crisis
At the meeting with the heads of the BiH BP, led by Director Zoran Galic, which was also attended by the BiH Parliamentary Military Commissioner Bosko Siljegovic, the state of border security and current problems in the work of the BiH BP were discussed.
Also, they talked about the migrant crisis and the activities of the BiH BP in securing the BiH borders.
According to the BP, Director Galic pointed out the problem of staff shortages, but also the fact that all human and material-technical resources are available in order to protect the state border as effectively as possible.
Inadequate infrastructure
”Effective work of police officers at frequent border crossings is burdened by inadequate infrastructure at some border crossings and only a few border crossings meet the European Union (EU)standards, but despite all the shortcomings and challenges, members of the BiH BP achieve very good results,” noted Galic.
At the same time, the head of Field Office South, Robert Peric, informed the members of the Joint Commission about the situation and problems in the work of members of the BiH BP in the area of responsibility of BiH BP units from the Field Office.
Apart from the members of the Commission, members of the OSCE Mission and members of the NATO Headquarters in BiH also attended the mentioned working visit, as it was mentioned in the announcement.
