water supplyPresident of the mobile team for normalization of the water supply of KJKP “Water Supply and Sewerage“, Kenan Djipa, said today that the water supply in Canton Sarajevo was regular in the previous three days, but that, without abundant precipitation, a significant improvement cannot be expected.

“Since the first day of Eid until today, situation with the water supply in Sarajevo is, when it comes to daily hours, regular. The first day of Eid, it was a warm weather and we recorded an increase in the consumption, but however a full day supply was regular. On that day afternoon, due to a malfunction at the pump station Center, there was a temporary interruption in the water supply, but the malfunction was solved within an hour“, said Djipa.

Yesterday’s rain hadn’t improved the situation because as he said, improvement on accumulations cannot be expected without abundant precipitation.

“As a result of the reduce water consumption due to cooling, water supply of the Canton is currently regular, because certain accumulation of water were created in the tanks, as well as because we already lower the pressure during the night“, added Djipa.

He stated that in the underground accumulations, the water level is low, but if the period of cooling down and precipitations is continued, an improvement at the underground accumulations and sources can be expected.

However, increase of the water level in accumulations does not solve a problem of the water supply in Sarajevo.
