How much Money the Banks in the FBiH earned last Year?

Banks in the FBiH achieved a record profit of 240 million BAM last year. That is by 39 % or 67 million BAM more in comparison to the end of the year of 2016 (after taxes), and it represents the best result so far.

The second highest amount was realized last year (173 million BAM), and the third is the profit realized in the year of 2015 (117 million BAM).

A positive financial result of 247 million BAM was realized by a total of 13 banks and it is by 17 % or 36 million BAM higher when compared to the year of 2016.

Of the total profit, 66 % or 162 million BAM refers to the two largest banks in the system. A total of eight banks recorded better financial result (by 82 million BAM), while seven banks recorded a somewhat weaker result (15 million BAM).

On December 31, 2017, there were 15 commercial banks with 533 organizational units operating in the FBiH, and they were employing a total of 6,655 people. Total net active amounted to 20.2 billion BAM and it is by 1.8 billion BAM or 9.9 % higher than at the end of the year of 2016.

Loans, with a share of 65.2 % in the structure of total active recorded an increase of 7.4 % or 909 million BAM and they amounted to 13.2 billion BAM at the end of the year.
