Doctors from Banja Luka removed a 31 kilogram weighting Tumor!

tumor3Doctors at the University Clinical Center of the RS successfully removed the tumor that weighted as much as 31 kilograms! A woman on whom they performed the surgery is on recovery.

Specifically, on the 26th of August 2016, on the Department of General and Abdominal Surgery was received the patient P. S., (1964) according to urgent protocol as part of the transfer from the Department of Gastroenterology, with an extremely large tumor in the abdomen.

tumor2“We performed a complete diagnosis, which confirmed the existence of ovarian tumors of large dimensions. Due to the extensiveness of the surgery, in the surgical team were included specialists from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as from the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Surgery was performed on Tuesday, the 30th of August 2016, and it lasted for 4 hours and ended with the successful removal of the tumor. Mass of the tumor was 31 kg and 300 grams,” according to the statement of the UCC RS.

They noted that the postoperative period took place without any complications.
