Dodik calls on Serbs to close Shops in Sarajevo

SNSD President Milorad Dodik posted on the social network X regarding the incident in Sarajevo’s Ferhadija street, where red paint was thrown at a shop, and linked the event without evidence to alleged “hatred of Serbs”.

In his post, Dodik made claims about the motives of the incident even before the police investigation was completed, accusing Sarajevo of, as he stated, a hostile attitude towards Serbia, RS and Serbs, and placing it in the context of a broader political and historical interpretation.

He went a step further, claiming that the incident was reminiscent of “the darkest periods of European history” and that similar events could be repeated, although no evidence or investigation findings were presented for such claims.

At the end of the message, Dodik called on companies from Serbia and RS to close their branches in Sarajevo, which further increased tensions and provoked public reactions.

For now, the competent authorities in Sarajevo are conducting an investigation, and no elements have been officially published that would confirm the motives Dodik stated in his post.

“Sarajevo’s hatred of Serbia, Republika Srpska and Serbs is stronger than economic interest and the desire for cooperation. What has been done to the shops of companies from Serbia and Republika Srpska is irresistibly reminiscent of the beginning of the darkest period in the history of Europe and the world. And it will not stop. It will happen again. Until the last one is closed. Hatred is like a weed, it is difficult to eradicate. When it is fed, it flourishes. That is why I call on all our companies – close your shops. There is work outside Sarajevo as well,” Dodik wrote on the social network X.
