DodikThe President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, at an extraordinary press conference said that the entity will hold a referendum even if the High Representative of the International Community to BiH, Valentin Inzko, or the Constitutional Court of BiH ban it.

Dodik expressed his gratitude to the President and Prime Minister of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic and Aleksandar Vucic, adding that Serbia does not support but also does not dispute the referendum on the Day of RS and that it stands behind the interests of this entity.

He accused the media to speculate about conspiracies and added that Serbia was very clear that the RS has the right to decide and that it actually protects the integrity and sovereignty of BiH, but also the interests of the RS.

He also said that the neighboring country was not consulted regarding the referendum and that Serbia was not invited to support or not support the referendum.

Dodik also said that he consulted with all the political leaders of RS who were not at the meeting in Belgrade and that they all supported the decision of the National Assembly of RS.

“The referendum is a universal right of the people to decide on their position. I want to be unique with all parties from the RS on this issue. We have preserved the unity since no party has changed its opinion on this issue,” said Dodik.

As he says, this referendum is not about territorial integrity but the Day of the RS. As he explained, the referendum on the Day of the RS is not dealing with the secession.

At the end, he concluded that the referendum on the Day of RS will be held even if they ban it.
