The president of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) entity Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik commented on yesterday’s visit of the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Becirovic, to the NATO headquarters in Brussels, as well as the information Becirovic presented to Quint Ambassadors.
Dodik said that Becirovic does not have the mandate to speak on behalf of, as he says, the majority of BiH, because ”he is only a Bosniak member of the Presidency or a third of the political will in BiH, and 49 percent of BiH advocates a neutral approach to the war in Ukraine.”
Commenting on Becirovic’s statement that, as he says, the majority and democratic BiH distances itself from Dodik’s destructive politics and that the awarding of the award to Russian President Vladimir Putin is not a reflection of BiH, Dodik said that the RS, not BiH, awarded the medal to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and he doesn’t know why anyone, including Becirovic, would distance himself from it.
”We didn’t even say that it was a medal in the name of BiH, and most importantly, we openly did what we thought was necessary. The medal to the Russian president has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine, but has exclusively to do with the principled Russian policy according to the Dayton Agreement,”emphasized Dodik and noted that the RS does not trade secretly with the Russians, nor does it conclude secret trade agreements.
As for the story about NATO and BiH’s membership in that alliance, Dodik said that Becirovic also knows that there is nothing to it as long as RS is concerned.
“And it is concerned and will be concerned,” concluded Dodik, Klix.ba reports.
