Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Milorad Dodik said in Prnjavor that in the upcoming days, Republika Srpska (RS) will allocate 100.000 BAM to the Ukrainian church and associations so that they can start certain activities to help their compatriots in war-torn Ukraine.
Together with Dodik, RS President Zeljka Cvijanovic and RS government ministers held a meeting in Prnjavor with representatives of this municipality and the Ukrainian national community.
After the meeting, he explained that it was agreed to support the collection of humanitarian aid, which would be delivered as soon as possible to the addresses for which Ukrainians in Prnjavor and associations from RS think are appropriate, and all that through the association, the RS Red Cross, Caritas, and other available channels.
RS supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity
”If there is need, and knowing that children from RS used to go to Ukraine at a time when there was no heating, electricity, and other conditions, we are ready to participate in the accommodation of children from Ukraine and their pleasant stay here, help them to continue schooling, and do everything that is needed, ” Dodik pointed out.
Pressure on energy and financial developments
”We are all worried about these events, unfortunately, people at the local level suffer the most, human lives are lost. The whole world is worried, it is obvious that this conflict will have significant repercussions on international political relations and global economic relations and global economic trends, ” stated Dodik.
He emphasized that pressure is already being exerted on energy and financial developments at the global level, and it would be good if the war ended immediately, to give peace and negotiations a chance.
At the meeting in Prnjavor, it was also agreed to list everything that is needed for the rehabilitation of churches and buildings of the Ukrainian community and to build new ones where the mentioned facilities were demolished.
