Dodik: We support BiH’s European Path, we are not in favor of joining NATO

SNSD party President Milorad Dodik said today that SNSD remains committed to its strategic commitments when it comes to cooperation at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that it supports BiH’s further European path, but is against joining NATO.

“We continue to support BiH’s European path. We are not in favor of joining NATO, but we are in favor of cooperation with NATO,” said Dodik at a press conference after the meeting of the SNSD Main Board in Srpac.

He pointed out that SNSD accepts the discussion of all important issues at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and rejects any possibility of intervention by any foreign representative, body or individual.

Dodik said that the SNSD, with the unanimous election of the party leadership at the session of the Main Board, showed that it is an organizationally and politically profiled and unique political party.

“As we said in the analysis of the political and economic situation, we are aware that the current situation is not at all easy, that it is challenging and requires complete unity and organization of SNSD bodies and every individual,” said Dodik.

He pointed out that this situation calls for a change in SNSD’s approach to the daily performance of duties.

“Today, we tasked the newly elected Presidency of the SNSD to create a platform, and through my work I will advocate for the development of a code of conduct for members of the SNSD in elected positions and ordinary members of the party,” said Dodik.

The president of SNSD pointed out that the primary task of the political structures in Republika Srpska, as well as those at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is to free themselves from the colonial yoke, and to build BiH in accordance with the Constitution.

According to him, the SNSD supports that of BiH, which is constitutional and is built by the will of the three constituent nations and two entities.

“We have the right to decide our behavior on that issue and say that two entities and three constituent nations are the basis for agreements on any issue at the BiH level,” said Dodik.

He reminded that the SNSD also adheres to the previously established policies of a neutral approach in relation to any conflict outside this region, and added that joining the sanctions against Russia is not something that would help the overall situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dodik thanked the newly elected SNSD vice-presidents and the general secretary, who, he said, will continue to work on operational policies for the benefit of the people.

“We are a party that bears responsibility and wants to master every problem. We want to be the leaders of an entire movement of the fight against colonialism and such administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that we have the potential, desire and will to propose a movement for the Republika Srpska, the Serbian people and members of other people who care about legitimacy and legality, as well as constitutional BiH and tolerant life,” Dodik pointed out.

He emphasized that 347 SNSD members were present at today’s session of the Main Board, who unanimously supported the newly elected vice-presidents.

Dodik assessed that the election of Srđan Amidžić as the new general secretary of the SNSD instead of Luka Petrović, who was elected as the new vice president, also showed the maturation of the party.

“Luka Petrović proved to be a capable general secretary, and we thought he deserved to be the vice-president of the party in charge of certain areas,” said Dodik.

According to him, the rejuvenation of the structure of the SNSD is also proceeding in this way.

“There is no turbulence here in the SNSD. We believe that we have done a good job and that Amidžić will be a new tailwind in the overall organization and every other work in the SNSD in the coming period,” concluded Dodik, Srna news agency writes.
