The medical waste that was dumped on the shore of the Busko Lake in recent days, that is, on the border between the municipalities of Livno and Tomislavgrad, does not represent an ecological threat to the local community.
As the director of the Administration for Inspection Affairs of Canton 10, Dubravko Kovačević, confirmed for Fena, it is about a dozen boxes with bags containing glucose infusions with intravenous supplements.
According to him, all discarded medical waste has been collected and disposed of at the Tomislavgrad Health Center and will be destroyed in due course in accordance with the Rulebook on Medical Waste Management.
In addition to the employees of the Administration for Inspection Affairs of Canton 10, employees of the Ministry of Interior of Canton 10 went to the field today and conducted an investigation and took other investigative measures with the aim of finding the perpetrators of this part as well as the origin of discarded medical waste.
The Parish of St. John the Baptist Podhum from Livno was the first to warn about this environmental incident, publishing photos of discarded waste on its Facebook page.
