Dudakovic’s Hearing Begins at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Signatories of the “Path of Justice and Truth” initiative gathered in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to attend the hearing of General of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Commander of the Fifth Corps Atif Dudaković.

The president of the Association of Parents of Children Killed in the Siege of Sarajevo 1992-1995, Fikret Grabovica, said that the trial of General Dudaković and others is confirmation that our judiciary is under political influence.

“How else can we explain that for the siege of Sarajevo, which lasted 1,425 days and during that period 11,540 civilians were killed, of whom 1,601 were children, there has never been a single indictment, while indictments are being filed for those who defended the state of BiH. All those who deserved it should be prosecuted, but this does not make sense that some cases are being tried several times, while there is not a single indictment for the siege of Sarajevo,” Grabovica points out.

He says that this creates a narrative of equal responsibility, which is not good.

The president of the Association “Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclave Movement”, Munira Subasic, said that in two days the BiH public will see whether the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH are under political influence.

“Those with the A label work in ministries, there are also those in the court, parliament, everywhere. The criminals who fled to Serbia, and there are 308 of them, that’s a whole platoon of criminals. Why don’t they issue an arrest warrant for these criminals,” said Subasic.

She points out that war criminals walk freely wherever they want.

“Atif Dudaković was on the B label. The Hague Tribunal did not have enough evidence against him, it could not raise anything. And those with the A label work in institutions,” she said.

The court proceedings against Dudaković are being conducted on charges of crimes against humanity, crimes against the civilian population, and the destruction of cultural and historical monuments.

Criminal charges against Dudaković were filed back in 2006, and the indictment against him was only confirmed in 2018, Federalna writes.
