Dzaferovic: We will not allow the Intentions of Karadzic and Mladic to be implemented

Sefik Dzaferovic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) commented on the current problems in BiH, saying that even if there is no reaction from the judiciary and the international community, implementation of Karadzic’s and Mladic’s intentions will not be allowed.

“The primary function of the institutions of BiH is to protect the constitutional order. The institutions have the strength and capacity to do so. I cannot go into details of the specific case, but the public in BiH gets the impression that the Prosecutor’s Office’s measures which were implemented so far are mild compared to the severity of acts, ” said Dzaferovic.

Furthermore, he added that if there is no adequate reaction from the judiciary, then the international community, primarily NATO, has an obligation to protect the Dayton Agreement.

“If there is no ultimate guarantor for the survival of the state of BiH, as in the period from 1992 to 1995, we, the patriots of this state, will never allow, that after all, Karadzic’s and Mladic’s intentions be implemented,” he mentioned.

He also explained why Dodik’s moves are not in line with the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“There is no a possibility for the entities to unilaterally regain those competencies. The Constitutional Court, on the appeals of RS officials, confirmed that additional competencies and institutions are in accordance with the Constitution. If, despite all this, one administrative unit, such as entity, try to unilaterally take over state jurisdiction, then you know what it is. It is an attack on the constitutional order and an act of rebellion. In other words, it is violence, and can it be in the interest of Serbs or any other people? ” noted Dzaferovic.

He stated that “if Dodik goes all the way in the unilateral demolition of 26 years of Dayton implementation, then it can only end in two ways – or by removing him from the political scene, in order to protect peace. And if that fails, then it means he will take us to a state of chaos. “

Orban’s meeting with the BiH Presidency has not been scheduled

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is expected to arrive in BiH later this month. Having in mind his latest statements about BiH and Bosniaks, Dzaferovic was asked if he would meet with him, to which he replied that Orban had not yet requested a meeting in the Presidency, and that he was coming to BiH at the invitation of the Council of Ministers.

He also commented on the “friendship” between Dodik and Orban

“Dodik and Orban have a common ideological denominator, and that is Islamophobia. Orban adheres to, I would say, medieval ideas about the relationship between Europe and Islam, completely ignoring the idea of equality of people, regardless of religion or other affiliation, which is woven into the European Convention on human rights and on which modern Europe is based.
