BiH tennis player Damir Dzumhur won the ATP Challenger in the Dominican Republic after the surrender of Argentine Renzo Oliva in the second set.
The final meeting lasted for an hour and ten minutes. Before handing of Olivo, Džumhur had won the first set with 7: 5, and the second led with 3: 1.
Damir won convincingly against peer from Argentina who is 228. player in the world and an absolute favorite. In the finals he won Balleret, Trinker, Jarry and Garin,.This is his fourth Challenger title in his career.
In the first set we saw a very good game of both players, much more effective moves on both sides, and for the key break Damir made the result of 6: 5 and the first set resolved in its favor.
To win in Santo Domingo, Damir won 90 ATP points and at the next ATP list it expects improvement of 18 places, which returns to the top 100 players in the world.
Next week Damir will play at the ATP Challenger in Morelos (Mexico).
“It’s the first time I was in this tournament and I was surprised by the good organization. This was probably one of the best weeks of my life”, said Džumhur.
