Winter Break n1info.comThe Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the Sarajevo Canton submitted a request to the representatives of the Government and Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton for early termination of first half-year of 2016/2016 for elementary and high schools of the Sarajevo Canton.

Request was submitted due to increased air pollution, especially in the urban municipalities of the Canton, as well as due to worrying concentration of sulfur dioxide and dust, which is why citizens are repeatedly urged to stay in their homes as much as possible.

“The most threatened category exposed to enormous pollution are children and pupils, which is why we expect the acceptance of our request for early termination of the first half-year for the academic year 2015/2016,” it was stated in the elaboration of the request.

It was suggested to the authorities to consider the request for early termination of first half-year in an emergency procedure, so that it can end on December 24, 2015.
