Economic statistics of Consumer Price Index in BiH

POLAND-RUSSIA-APPLES-EMBARGOIn February 2017, on average, price levels recorded an increase by 0,3%. By divisions of COICOP classification in February 2017 compared to previous month, price levels recorded an increase by 0,3%. Higher prices in divisions of Food and nonalcoholic beverages, Clothing and footwear, Health and Transport.

By divisions of COICOP classification, in February of 2017 as compared to the previous month, the price index increased in divisions of Food and nonalcoholic beverages by 1,1%, Clothing and footwear by 0,1%, Health by 0,1% and Transport by 0,4%.

Lower prices in divisions of Alcoholic drinks and Tobacco, Housing and utilities, Furniture and furnishing, Communications and Other goods and services. By divisions of COICOP classification in February 2017 compared to previous month, the price index decreased in division of Alcoholic drinks and Tobacco, Housing and utilities, and Communications by 0,1%, Furniture and furnishing by 0,3% and Other goods and services by 0,6%.

On annual level, on average, price levels increased by 1,2%. The price level in February 2017 as compared to the same month of the previous year increased by 1,2%. The decrease of prices on average was recorded in divisions of Clothing and footwear by 9,0% and Furniture and furnishing by 1,5%.

The average increase of prices was recorded in divisions of Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0,2%, Alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 4,1%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 1,0%, Health by 0,3%, Education by 0,7%, Recreation and Culture by 1,1%, Transport by 9,5% and Restaurants and hotels and Other goods and services by 0,3%.

In the period January-February 2017, export amounted to 1 billion 543 million BAM, which is 14,2% higher than in the same period of 2016, and import amounted to 2 billion 407 million BAM, which is 11,5% higher than in the same period of last year.

The coverage of import by export was 64,1% and foreign trade in goods deficit amounted to 864 million BAM. Export to CEFTA countries amounted to 211 million BAM, which is 36,7% higher than in the same period of 2016, while import amounted to 273 million BAM, which is 2,5% higher than in the same period of last year.

The coverage of import by export was 77,5%. Export to EU countries amounted to 1 billion 150 million BAM, which is 10,7% higher than in the same period of 2016, while import amounted to 1 billion 440 million BAM, which is 8% higher than in the same period of last year. The coverage of import by export wash79,8%.
