Edin Arslanagic and Others were sentenced to 39 Years in Prison in ‘Bosnalijek’ Case

The trial of Edin Arslanagić and others in the “Bosnalijek” case in the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo ended today with a guilty verdict for all the accused, except for Aida Selvić, who was acquitted. The first defendant, Edin Arslanagić, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Hasan Šepo and Jasmin Šepo received 10 and seven years, respectively, and Šefik Handžić 10 years.

The indictment in this case, along with Edin Arslanagić, the former general manager of Bosnalijek, also charged Šefik Handžić, Hasan Šepo, Aida Selvić and Jasmin Šepo for incriminations that, according to the indictment, they committed as employees of the pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek d.d. Sarajevo, and the company Brštanica d.o.o. Sarajevo and Carpe Diem Sarajevo. They were charged with organized crime in connection with abuse of position and authority, money laundering, tax evasion and forgery of official documents, as well as conclusion of harmful contracts, and in connection with the business arrangements of the company Bosnalijek and the mentioned companies. They were convicted of damaging the budget of the FBiH and Canton Sarajevo by around 23 million BAM.

The trial of Arslanagić and others, which refers to incriminations from the period 2005-2012. year, began in mid-October 2016, based on the indictment dated December 24, 2015, which was amended in June 2020.
