Edina-OmerovicThe best high school students from throughout Victoria gathered yesterday in Melbourne on occasion of an annual ceremony that is traditionally organized by the Governor of Victoria and awards students who achieved remarkable results in one or more subjects from the previous school year.

The awards were given by Martin Dixon, Minister for Education and Alex Chernov, Governor of Victoria, who congratulated the students for their remarkable success, as well as their teachers and parents for their commitment and support during their education.

In order to enter the selection for the honor awards, students have to achieve excellent grades, but only 1-2 percent of the best students from certain classes have a real chance.

Of the 45.000 high school students in Viktoria, 282 students were awarded this year, and among them is Edina Omerović, who in 2013 received the best grade from Bosnian language.

Edina was born and raised in Melbourne, and this year she is in 12th grade, and will finish high school. Last year she passed two classes (Bosnian and Business Management) and her talent and success did not go unnoticed. Larissa Moga and Tonja Miller received awards for their success in Serbian/Croatian languages.
