The Cantonal Court in Tuzla has handed down a first-instance verdict against Emir Selimović for double murder, sentencing him to a single long-term prison sentence of 45 years.

Selimović was found guilty of the murder of his wife I. S. and his minor son, committed on February 12, 2025, in their shared apartment in Kalesija. According to the indictment, the crime was committed in a treacherous manner while the victims were sleeping, and they were killed by suffocation.

The court imposed a long-term prison sentence of 44 years for each murder individually, and by applying the legal provisions on concurrence, imposed a single sentence of 45 years.

The defendant’s detention was extended, which may last no longer than nine months from the date of the verdict, Fena writes.
