Employees of GRAS Announced Multi-day Protests in Front of Canton Sarajevo Government

gras-strajkThe Union of works of the company GRAS and employees of GRAS brought a decision that from 7 to 12 April they would hold peaceful protests in front of the building of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo from 15:00 to 16:30.

‘’What the representatives in Sarajevo Canton Assembly did with voting for the budget is the biggest vandalism that took place in Canton Sarajevo’’, said at a press conference the President of the Union of GRAS Adnan Himzanija. He recalled at 1.740 employees work in GRAS, and added that ‘’someone is now giving himself the right to extinguish a company that has existed 128 years for self interest’’.

‘’Citizens of Sarajevo have to know that employees of GRAS did not receive any salary in 2014, that employees are paying interest on loans that are not paid for already, three, four months ago. We do not have health insurance cards, they are not paying us anything’’, said Himzanija.

Employees of GRAS are demanding an immediate payment of salaries and hot meals for January, for the Assembly of the company, Supervisory Board and Management Company abolish all monthly tickets in order to enable GRAS to operate in accordance with economic principles and to bring charges against Sarajevo Canton.

The Minister of Finance in Canton Sarajevo government Muhamed Kozadra promised the employees that their salaries for January would be paid by 4 April, which was confirmed at a press conference.
